Impotence Treatments

There are a number of treatments available for impotence. These treatments vary in method, dosage and their application, and will be prescribed depending on the severity of the sufferer’s condition.

Physical factors, lifestyle habits and psychological reasons can all cause impotence. Psychological treatments available include professional couples therapy, counselling sessions or a course of psychotherapy. Impotence prescription treatments are not able to help with all psychological causes.

Oral drugs are most commonly used to help treat the physical and lifestyle causes of erectile dysfunction. Oral treatment drugs can help men to achieve an erection in response to sexual stimulation.

The 3 drug treatments currently available in the UK are Viagra, Cialis and Levitra. Each treatment has both benefits and drawbacks and may not be safe for some men to use. Each one is available on a prescription only. You should always consult your doctor and ask for a physical check-up before trying to purchase any of these medications.

Viagra

Viagra 100mg x 4 box pictureViagra is an oral drug treatment that helps to increase blood flow to your penis when you are sexually stimulated. This will make it much easier for you to achieve an erection. For the majority of men, Viagra will begin to take affect within 30-60 minutes and can last for up to 4 hours.

The most common side effects of Viagra are headaches, a blocked nose, vision changes, indigestion, facial flushing, palpitations and dizziness. Blue vision is a less common side effect that some users have reported and occurs when higher doses of Viagra are consumed. Viagra can interact with other medications and is not suitable to take with certain heart and blood pressure drugs.

Cialis

Cialis works in a similar way to Viagra. It is not as widely known as Viagra, although in recent years it has become increasingly popular because its effects last for longer. Men who have used Cialis have reported that the effects have lasted for up to 36 hours.

The side effects of Cialis are not dissimilar to those of Viagra, but this drug treatment can also cause back pain and muscle pain. When taken with other medications the user may experience adverse effects; Cialis also clashes with the antibiotic clarithromycin and the sedative phenobarbital.

Levitra

Levitra lasts for 12 hours like Viagra, however Levitra is more easily tolerated by the body and is more suitable for men with underlying health conditions, such as high blood pressure, diabetes and high cholesterol.

Levitra works in same way as both Viagra and Cialis. Its side effects, and repercussions when taken with other drug treatments, are also similar to those of Viagra, although not as long-lasting as Cialis. The most common Levitra side effects are headache, facial flushing and muscle aches.
